had an e-mail reply from foreign parts inviting him to transfer funds
before the item was dispatched. This was obviously a fraud. He didn't
fall for it, please ensure that you don't either! We also had
a member who was advertising an item for sale on this page. The "buyer"
sent a cheque for £3000 more than the sum agreed. The buyer then
contacted the seller and explained that this was a mistake and could
he please cash the cheque and send her the £3000. Needless to
say he didn't fall for it and neither should you. Be warned!
There
also seem to be attempts to defraud people who put Wanted adverts on
the site, where the writer claims to have the wanted item but doesn't
refer to it specifically but talks about 'the subject title' or 'the
above subject stated'. They usually claim to be from foreign countries
and the English used is pretty bad. We're not sure how the fraud works,
possibly asking for payment before delivery. Once again be warned!

1972 bilge-keel
Hurley 22 in very good condition. Full professional respray in
2007 at Rochefort Boatyard. Survey 2007 with clean bill of health.
"Penga" is a delightful yacht coming complete with recent
mainsail and cruising chute; Furling Jib, Navigation Lights, Anchor,
Fenders. The previous owner refitted the interior to create as
much space as possible making a very airy interior. Ready to sail.

List of parts
available from a Hurley Felicity being broken up due to the friable
condition of the hull .
Wooden Mast
and Boom in fair condition. Genoa by Jeckells in good condition.
Main Sail by Dolphin in good condition. There are also two Foresails
or Jibs one in fair condition and the not so good.
The pushpits
and pullpits are in mild steel and good enough for patterns but
not fit for re-use. All the rest of the deck fittings are in stainless
and in fairly good order.
Stuart Turner
Marine inboard engine installation complete with twin tanks in
copper. Stainless steel prop shaft with a twin bladed prop all
of which are in reasonable order.

FOR
SALE. TILLERMATE.
This was used
at first on my open day sailing boat which was 17ft long, I then
transferred it to my H22. I have now bought a Tiller Pilot and
so would like it to be used rather than be cast into my box of
bits. The original price including the rope guides was £70.00
or therabouts, it was a present from my wife. I would like £50.00
plus post and packing. I will sell the actual Tillermate drum,
the rope guide, the cord (but the buyer may need it to be longer)
and also the two jammers which I had at either end and in front
of the mainsheet track which worked well.
It is a more controllable method of securing the tiller and can
be held or released very quickly with just a turn of the knob.
This method does require the sail trim to be very good and does
not keep the boat on course for long stretches of time however,
it will enable the skipper to take a little time out to attend
to whatever is necessary away from the tiller. There were times
when I have sailed around four or five miles without adjusting
anything in constant relatively light winds.

Black Lola is for sale. Fin keel, Sail No 900 , built about
1979 in Plymouth by South Coast Marine. She is under cover on
her road trailer in a waterside warehouse by the water at Falmouth
Cornwall. This warehouse with power and water is currently available
in the future and boats are craned for about £50 directly
into the water.
Over the past
2 years she has been completely refitted. Hull resprayed and antifouled.
New two rail pulpit. New double bow roller and new Bruce and 25m
chain. Refitted chain plates and stanchions. Rebuilt and strengthened
cabin, so new mast compression problems. New rigging throughout,
incl new furler and mast. Good con main and genoa and storm sail
all valeted last year. New nav lights (steaming + sailing) and
deck lights and vhf aerial. Completely rewired (fused),new 100ah
battery, lights, cig lighter socket, vhf, hi fi, bilge pump, nav
equipment etc. Reupholstered all seats & beds. Relined (pvc
and foam) through out. New windows. New plumbed in gas hob.
Reserviced original sea toilet and new sea cock. Original echo,log
(new impeller). New compass. Probably more I have forgotten.
She sails
beautifully and last year flew back like a dream from Plymouth

For sale Hurley
22 twin keel. This boat is being sold with no engine, she had
a Stuart Turner petrol engine initially. The standing- igging
requires replacing, there is roller reefing. The bottom of the
keels require glassing, and the rubbing strake on one side requires
attention (I have a large length of Iroko intended for this),
window seals require replacing, and a little TLC.
The Main sail
was repaired and had new UV strips fitted along with two rows
of slab reefing, the genoa has also had a new UV strip. Other
inventory include a plough anchor and chain.
I paid £1750
for her a few years ago and welcome a sensible offer for this
reluctant sale.

Hurley 22,
1978, bilge-keel, lying afloat in Kingsbridge S.Devon. 4-berth
with 2003 Yamaha 8hp four stroke - serviced every year, last service
March 2009 with new prop. Very economical and decent engine. Remote
throttle controls and ignition key start in cockpit. Sails in
good clean condition, furling roller-reefing genoa. Small area
of about 4 inches on the genoa where it brushes the cross trees
on mast has come unstitched so needs a sew up, doesn't effect
the performance and still works fine. GPS and VHF both with new
cables, antenna and aerials just fitted. Depth display, speed
and log, Nav lights, two 80amp 12 volt marine batteries, anchors,
fenders warps etc. Boarding ladder and aux engine mount fitted
to stern transom. Cockpit tent converted from camping tunnel tent
with full head room.
This boat is sailed to France every year so has everything onboard
necessary for cross channel trips should it be required. She is
a very solid, seaworthy and safe boat. Price £4950.
