For Sale and Wanted

To advertise here please e-mail the details to Rod. Please ensure that the e-mail's subject includes the word "Hurley". Normally adverts will be deleted after 6 months.

The Hurley Owners Association advertises the details of vessels in good faith but cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy of this information nor warrant the condition of the vessels. A buyer should instruct his agents, or his surveyors, to investigate such details as the buyer desires validated.

Please note that one of our members who put a Wanted advert on this page had an e-mail reply from foreign parts inviting him to transfer funds before the item was dispatched. This was obviously a fraud. He didn't fall for it, please ensure that you don't either!  We also had a member who was advertising an item for sale on this page. The "buyer" sent a cheque for £3000 more than the sum agreed. The buyer then contacted the seller and explained that this was a mistake and could he please cash the cheque and send her the £3000. Needless to say he didn't fall for it and neither should you. Be warned!

There also seem to be attempts to defraud people who put Wanted adverts on the site, where the writer claims to have the wanted item but doesn't refer to it specifically but talks about 'the subject title' or 'the above subject stated'. They usually claim to be from foreign countries and the English used is pretty bad. We're not sure how the fraud works, possibly asking for payment before delivery. Once again be warned!

I've just bought my first Hurley 22 Mk2 - 1982? I'm looking for a sprayhood. Any condition, even if it needs work. Please contact me on or phone on 07762744761.

This is a rare example of the later Hurleys built by Ravensail in the early 1980s and dates from 1984. A classic pocket cruiser, this one benefits from bilge keels, perfect for cruising and exploring the many estuaries here on the south coast. She is a much-loved and well-cared for yacht, originally the Boat Show model and with only 2 owners from new. The hull was professionally epoxied in 1994 and resprayed in 2008; she also had new standing rigging in 2008 (when mast fittings, chain plates etc also checked and found to be sound and secure), a new headsail by Sanders Sails in

2006 and also a new 4-stroke Mariner 6 engine from the same time (currently with only c150 hours use). Other features include a table with cockpit and saloon fittings, recent fuel tank and bilge and water pumps, and quality woodwork. She was lifted and re-antifouled in November and is currently lying afloat in Keyhaven river, near Lymington, Hants. More photos and further information are available from Price £4,800.

For sale: Hurley 30/ 90. Ian Anderson designed and built. Fully in commission Lying Central South Coast UK.This is the arguably the best of the best of these superb, safe, comfortable family cruisers.

6 adult berths in 2 separate cabins, central heads without disturbing sleeping crew, shower room with luxury vanitary unit and hanging locker all with c.6 foot headroom. Pressurised hot and cold water system to heads and galley. Modernised sail handling with Furlex to twin-groove headsail and 2 triple jammers for easy efficient slab reefing to mainsail, allowing sail setting and adjustment from the safety of the cockpit. Lewmar Whitlock pedestal wheel steering adds to its ease of handling, the pedestal compass and surrounding drinks-holder in teak with hinge-up, teak, fold-out cockpit table finish the refinement beautifully. Lots of electronics. Neptune wind steering gear is pendulum type to the wheel.

The galley and engine housing has been professionally modernised, giving clean lines, more main cabin space, better companionway entry and good engine access. Easy clean Granite Reformations L shaped worktops. Teak and holly lined cabin soles compliment the mahogany interior.

All interior varnish work is in tip-top condition. There are original, white-moulded, textured head linings in grp: giving condensation drip-free accommodation and in hotter climes a cooler well-ventilated light interior. All hatches to the main cabin, forecabin and heads are new Lewmar and are ocean rated.

The engine is a new diesel Beta 18 still under warranty, with freshwater cooling and engine/shore power immersion heater.

This roomy fin and skeg yacht has the optional internal lead ballast. Is easy to maintain, ruggedly built, carries 4.6tonnes of displacement and with kindly sea-going characteristics can still put up a good sailing performance. It has been used for the last 10 yrs for family cruising and club racing. It is a dry boat / little sea-spray; deep, safe, spacious, adequate cockpit with seating for all or layout full-length on either side. Teak grating seating and cockpit sole.

This yacht has had only 4 owners since new all of which used professional care and attention to maintain her. She was the Hurley'74 Earls Court Boat Show exhibit launched in '75. Contact Tony Harris on Email with offers based closely on £19500ovno.

A silver anodised mast and boom from a 1982 SCM-built Hurley 22. I am confident that the spars are Proctor Masts' sections and the mast can come with the painted mild steel tabanacle if required, together with a galvanised under-deck mast support post and a backing plate that is drilled to the same centres as the fastening holes in the tabanacle's
foot plate.

The mast has been provided with 25mm O/D stainless steel spreaders, but the cap shrouds' lower eyes were clearly swaged after a rigger had past the wires through the spreaders, effectively captivating the shrouds until someone comes to cut through the wires. The mast is unkinked and the anodising is generally in good condition, although there is some marking above the spreaders on one side where a halyard has been allowed to frap. As I say, the cosmetic appearance is pretty good.

A track that will have been fitted to allow adjustment of the height of the inboard end of a spinnaker pole has been removed, leaving a series of filled holes and the goose-neck fitting has been fixed, with the removal of a track that will have originally been riveted to
the extrusion. Again the holes have been filled. There is no halyard winch fitted (mounting pads fastening holes filled) - presumably the mast was modified at the time that the halyards etc. were taken back to the cockpit.

The boom's inboard cap (to which the gooseneck fits) has had two 'Rams horns' welded to it in providing for slab reefing of a
mainsail. The fitting of this cap requires another rivet to be fitted (only three out of four present); and cap consequently loose. A stainless steel eye has been self-tapped to the underside of the boom for attachment of a kicking strap using low-grade S/S or ferrous screws and these should be replaced.

I'm thinking that the mast and spreaders (inc. the cap shrouds) are probably worth £175; the boom is worth £50 and the rest of standing rigging (minus a forestay) maybe £45 and the tabanacle together with it's under deck plate and support post £25.

A very reasonable £295 for the lot. I am willing to split the package, but only once the mast itself has been sold; anyone
interested in the spars has 'First Dibs' and the choice of whether they take the ancilliaries.

All items will have to be collected either by the buyer in person, or by their appointed courier (be aware that very few couriers, if any,
will look at delivering a mast, although I've successfully arranged for collection and delivery of a H22's boom from one side of the
country to the other for as little as £13 in the past). There is a reasonable probability that I can deliver the mast late in 2015 or in
early 2016, and if so then we would have to come to a separate arrangement regarding the cost of delivery.

The items are currently in SE Cornwall and anyone is welcome to view them by prior appointment. 5% of the sale price will be donated to the BYHH16 budget. Contact: James Green on 07831 435682 or

GRP with internal lining moulding in place and Hurley's ubiquitous wood grain effect beneath clear gelcoat. Two stainless steel strap hinges still attached and in serviceable condition. The cover itself is not in pristine condition, with some stress cracking to the gelcoat, but it is in better condition than many and I can, if required, take some pictures and e-mail them to interested parties. Give James Green a ring on 07831 435682 in the first instance to discuss and provide an e-mail address. Removed from a 1982 SCM-built, fin keeled H22.

'Just Jim', Hurley Silhouette Mk3, Sail No 370, Hull No 1295, built 1971. A fine example of this sturdy little yacht. Sails beautifully and is rigged for single handed sailing. She is in sound, clean condition.

Very unusually for a boat of this age her hull topsides and her superstructure have not been painted which is testimony to the quality of her build. She retains her original gelcoat and so maintenance is minimal.

'Just Jim' is for sale with a Tohatsu 5HP four stroke (2010 with full service history), and the original road trailer. Price: reduced to £2500.00. Contact Jonathan Harper
