For Sale and Wanted

To advertise here please e-mail the details to Rod. Please ensure that the e-mail's subject includes the word "Hurley". Normally adverts will be deleted after 6 months.

The Hurley Owners Association advertises the details of vessels in good faith but cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy of this information nor warrant the condition of the vessels. A buyer should instruct his agents, or his surveyors, to investigate such details as the buyer desires validated.

Please note that one of our members who put a Wanted advert on this page had an e-mail reply from foreign parts inviting him to transfer funds before the item was dispatched. This was obviously a fraud. He didn't fall for it, please ensure that you don't either!  We also had a member who was advertising an item for sale on this page. The "buyer" sent a cheque for £3000 more than the sum agreed. The buyer then contacted the seller and explained that this was a mistake and could he please cash the cheque and send her the £3000. Needless to say he didn't fall for it and neither should you. Be warned!

There also seem to be attempts to defraud people who put Wanted adverts on the site, where the writer claims to have the wanted item but doesn't refer to it specifically but talks about 'the subject title' or 'the above subject stated'. They usually claim to be from foreign countries and the English used is pretty bad. We're not sure how the fraud works, possibly asking for payment before delivery. Once again be warned!

Having re-engined my H24/70 – Big Easy with a more modern Yanmar 1GM10, I have a number of parts for sale:

  • · Yanmar YSE8 – running inboard diesel engine removed from the boat (green engine in picture below). This engine has a rebuilt water pump and exhaust riser/mixer, a new thermostat, new internal cooling system anode and comes with some new genuine Yanmar spares (eg, fan belt, fuel filter). It starts very easily and is economical (~1L/hr) in use, nide runner but is not especially powerful compared to modern engines.
  • Yanmar YSE8 – non running incomplete “spares” engine (silver), no water pump, no alternator
  • Yanmar simple engine control panel with oil pressure and ignition warning lamps + starting switch/key. NOTE, this is NOT the later “Type A” control panel, so does NOT have a warning buzzer for low engine oil pressure or overheating warning

I’m looking for £125.00 for the lot, or would be prepared to separate as follows: £150 – green running engine, £75.00 – silver spares engine, £25.00 engine control panel.

The engines are heavy ~ 125kg each, so prefer collection in person. Can ship other items no problem, or strap engine on pallet for buyers courier to collect at own risk. Items located near Blandford Forum/Poole – Dorset
