The Hurley Owners Association advertises the details of vessels in good
faith but cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy of this information
nor warrant the condition of the vessels. A buyer should instruct his

note that one of our members who put a Wanted advert on this page
had an e-mail reply from foreign parts inviting him to transfer funds
before the item was dispatched. This was obviously a fraud. He didn't
fall for it, please ensure that you don't either! We also had
a member who was advertising an item for sale on this page. The "buyer"
sent a cheque for £3000 more than the sum agreed. The buyer then
contacted the seller and explained that this was a mistake and could
he please cash the cheque and send her the £3000. Needless to
say he didn't fall for it and neither should you. Be warned!
also seem to be attempts to defraud people who put Wanted adverts on
the site, where the writer claims to have the wanted item but doesn't
refer to it specifically but talks about 'the subject title' or 'the
above subject stated'. They usually claim to be from foreign countries
and the English used is pretty bad. We're not sure how the fraud works,
possibly asking for payment before delivery. Once again be warned!

Too" is a fin-keel Hurley 22, approx 1968. She
is unusual in that she has a factory fitted stern hung rudder

for stowage. She has the slightly larger Proctor mast and was
regularly used for racing until I bought her 3 years ago. When
she was lifted out of the water and she was fully refurbished.

were changed for brand new bronze fittings, including two Blakes

This engine is bomb proof and has never let me down, it is plenty
powerful enough for getting in and out of the moorings.

Lead encapsulated ballast.
She has: a
Standard Horizon Explorer DSC VHF, that is two years old and includes
a GPS; a two year old Tabasco sea toilet; two-ring Gas burner
and grill and a sink (but no running water); a car stereo with
speakers for listening to music when at anchor; a solar panel

her long keel and stern hung rudder she practically steers herself
and with the trim right you can let go of the tiller and she will
just keep going. she is fast and weatherly and an absolute pleasure
to sail. I love this boat and this is a very reluctant sale. I
have spent the best part of £2500 on her over the years
and many many hours of work, but I no longer have the time to
go sailing or on her up keep.

hull number 8272 and re-engined with a Yanmar 10HP inboard diesel
engine in 1992. Very few Hurley 22's have inboard engines. Most
have outboards sat in an aft cockpit wel, making reversing very
tricky. With the inboard she performs very well in astern. The
outboard well is a very useful and large storage locker. Cruising
speed about 5knts and 6.5kts max. Shore power fitted and a solar
battery charger that keeps the battery's charged when on her
swinging mooring. Her
engine has been professionally serviced by a marine engineer.
condition is excellent for a 42 year old boat. I have just polished
her and antifouled for the 2016 season and she has just been
relaunched April 7th 2016. Her original GRP hull polishes to
a shine like a new yacht. Her mast was stepped 2015 and all
rigging etc checked by a professional rigger. All was fine -
only had the mast-mounted halyard winch replaced. The standing
rigging was all replaced in 2003 and the running rigging at
the same time. She has a mainsail, furling genoa that was recut
and a new UV strip fitted in 2012. Also a spinaker and spinaker
pole. The sails were professionally laundered in 2014.
accommodation comprises double forward berth with privacy curtain,Jabsco

comes with a pair of professionally-made beaching legs and fittings,

SALE. HURLEY 22R
This is a
rare example of the later Hurleys built by Ravensail in the early
1980s and dates from 1984. A classic pocket cruiser, this one
benefits from bilge keels, perfect for cruising and exploring
the many estuaries here on the south coast. She is a much-loved
and well-cared for yacht, originally the Boat Show model and with
only 2 owners from new. The hull was professionally epoxied in
1994 and resprayed in 2008; she also had new standing rigging
in 2008 (when mast fittings, chain plates etc also checked and
found to be sound and secure), a new headsail by Sanders Sails
2006 and also
a new 4-stroke Mariner 6 engine from the same time (currently
with only c150 hours use). Other features include a table with
cockpit and saloon fittings, recent fuel tank and bilge and water
pumps, and quality woodwork. She was lifted and re-antifouled
in November and is currently lying afloat in Keyhaven river, near
Lymington, Hants. More photos and further information are available
