the word "Hurley". Normally adverts will be deleted after

Disclaimer
The Hurley Owners Association advertises the details of vessels in good
faith but cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy of this information
nor warrant the condition of the vessels. A buyer should instruct his
agents, or his surveyors, to investigate such details as the buyer desires
validated.
Please
note that one of our members who put a Wanted advert on this page
had an e-mail reply from foreign parts inviting him to transfer funds
before the item was dispatched. This was obviously a fraud. He didn't
fall for it, please ensure that you don't either! We also had
a member who was advertising an item for sale on this page. The "buyer"
sent a cheque for £3000 more than the sum agreed. The buyer then
contacted the seller and explained that this was a mistake and could
he please cash the cheque and send her the £3000. Needless to
say he didn't fall for it and neither should you. Be warned!
There
also seem to be attempts to defraud people who put Wanted adverts on
the site, where the writer claims to have the wanted item but doesn't
refer to it specifically but talks about 'the subject title' or 'the
above subject stated'. They usually claim to be from foreign countries
and the English used is pretty bad. We're not sure how the fraud works,
possibly asking for payment before delivery. Once again be warned!

FOR
SALE. HURLEY 20
Built 1970.
Surveys completed (1999 and 2009) . Much work since then including
replacing the standing rigging, fitting a furling jib, strengthening
the bilge keels. When the boat was antifouled in 2010 by Trouts
boatyard, Topsham, the hull was inspected and found to have minimal
blistering for its age, so will not need attention for the lifetime
of the boat. The boat is basic. Nowadays, it is only used for
day sailing. The outboard is a Johnson 5HP (1996), is regularily
serviced and in very good working order. The price includes a
Wetline 260ECO tender (2009), which is clean and has never had
any punctures and a Honda 2.3HP (2009) which has been recently
serviced. I am selling due poor health. Price £1,500 ono.
The mooring, at Starcross on the Exe, is regularly inspected and
maintained by the local garage and is available to purchase by
negotiation.

WANTED
ANY SPARES/EQUIPMENT FOR HURLEY FELICTY DONATED TO SEA CADETS
John
Roberts has donated a spare Hurley Felicity to his local Sea
Cadet unit Training Ship Newfoundland based in Wolverhampton
. This is the oldest Sea Cadet unit in the UK (it is over 70
years old), which is a bit odd as it is located in the heart
of England. The project is to rebuild and fit the Hurley to
put on the water next year, the purpose is to foster young sailors
to train up to the day skipper level at least, using the Hurley
to keep an interest in the marque and ensure the next generation
will carry on with the Association. The intention is to have
the boat trailable and able to attend rallies in the UK with
crew and spare young members to assist members who would like
to encourage young people to learn as crew members and provide
a future resource for the members.
John
is looking for any members who have any spare gear to donate
to this project which will have a name and presence on the internet
and a blog of progress . The project will also raise, money
for a fund and ensure its future survival from the lottery and
other sources. They are hoping to have a permanent mooring located
in North West Wales in Red Wharf Bay for summer use.
If
you would like to donate spares/equipment to the project or
for further information please contact John on 01902
